matanong ko lang, lahat po ba yan ay kinikila nung GBI bilang member nila? o bawat faction na yan ay sila lang ang magkakbrad? lahat ba yan ang registered sa sec? o yung GBI lang talaga ang orig?

Kahit anong faction pa kasali, membership in good standing o not in good standing pa, basta Guardians.. Lahat kapatid kahit anong faction pa yan.. Walang pili o diskriminasyon sa myembro ng ibang faction..

I think it just so happened that Gringo is a member (and former Grand Supremo) of one of the Guardian factions (PGBI) and one of the PMA Class 71 leaders that formed the AFP-RAM.  The former senator and army colonel is also a member of Alpha Sigma, which he joined while taking up engineering courses in UP before he enrolled at the PMA.

I think the Guardians are not limited to the military and the police. There are a number of Guardian Brothers from varied walks of life.

For the RAM, I think all are PMA'ers (starting with the classes of the 70s - martial law graduates).  As PMA'ers, there was a natural rivalry with the Chief of Staff of the AFP then - Gen. Fabian Ver (who is a Vanguard and fraternity brother of then President Ferdinand Marcos).  Because of the perceived faults of the AFP, the RAM was formed as a Moverment to Reform the Armed forces.

Want another related story -

In the Marcos cabinet in the 1980s, there were two factions: Ver (supported by then First Lade, the very beautiful Imelda) and the technocrats (led by then Trade Minister Bobby Ongpin).

As he was at loggerheads with Ver (whose son was also the head then of the Presidential Security Group), Ongpin made sure that his security detail were RAM boys (and not Ver AFP/PSG boys).

One time, Ongpin's crackdown on the vaunted Binondo Central Bank led to a conflict with Edna Camcam (one of the alleged BCB operators).  Camcam, being Ver's mistress, sought help from the AFP Chief.  Ver then ordered the arrest of Ongpin's security detail (all connected to RAM).

Upon learning that no longer has a security detail, Ongpin called up fellow cabinet member Johnny Enrile (then Defense Minister and closely affiliated with then Army Colonel Honasan and his RAM).

For some reason, Sigma Rhoan Enrile and Alpha Sigman Honasan thought that the arrest of Ongpin's RAM security detail was a sign that Vanguard Ver (and even Vanguard and Upsilonian Marcos) knew of the revolt plot they were hatching.

Thus, even if still premature, Enrile et al were forced to commence what later came to be known as the 1986 EDSA Revolution.

The rest, as the cliche goes, is history.

Ang galing, nakita ko napakaraming Guardians sa Session Road Baguio, sa Baba ng SM! Sila ang mga nag assist at maintain ng crowd during the parade. Hehe. Keep it up.
Sya nga pala, napansin ko madaming Knights na miyembro din ng Guardians. Haha, mula sa mga Brgy. Captains, Architect, Business Man... Wala lang, napansin ko lang. hehe.
An interesting article:
