Want another related story -
In the Marcos cabinet in the 1980s, there were two factions: Ver (supported by then First Lade, the very beautiful Imelda) and the technocrats (led by then Trade Minister Bobby Ongpin).
As he was at loggerheads with Ver (whose son was also the head then of the Presidential Security Group), Ongpin made sure that his security detail were RAM boys (and not Ver AFP/PSG boys).
One time, Ongpin's crackdown on the vaunted Binondo Central Bank led to a conflict with Edna Camcam (one of the alleged BCB operators). Camcam, being Ver's mistress, sought help from the AFP Chief. Ver then ordered the arrest of Ongpin's security detail (all connected to RAM).
Upon learning that no longer has a security detail, Ongpin called up fellow cabinet member Johnny Enrile (then Defense Minister and closely affiliated with then Army Colonel Honasan and his RAM).
For some reason, Sigma Rhoan Enrile and Alpha Sigman Honasan thought that the arrest of Ongpin's RAM security detail was a sign that Vanguard Ver (and even Vanguard and Upsilonian Marcos) knew of the revolt plot they were hatching.
Thus, even if still premature, Enrile et al were forced to commence what later came to be known as the 1986 EDSA Revolution.
The rest, as the cliche goes, is history.
