KABANKALAN City -- The newly-organized United Fraternities Organization in Kabankalan City forged a “covenant of peace” and induction of officers recently.
The alliance, whose slogan was “Brotherhood for Peace and Progress,” is composed of nine fraternities, namely:

* Alpha Kappa Rho
* Alpha Phi Omega
* Gamma Omicron Delta Sigma
* Megalith Nu Sigma
* Omega Pelta Kappa
* Sigma Alpha Epsilon
* Sigma Rho
* Tau Gamma Phi, and
* Upsilon Phi Sigma.

Members and officers of the different fraternities together with parish priests led by Fr. Rico Dagunan were present during the signing rites.
The inducting officer was Mayor Isidro Zayco. He stressed that the fraternities must join hands to promote peace and progress.
The real objective of fraternities is to help the community and train members to become leaders and upright citizens, not to fight each other, he reminded the frat men.
Violent hazing must be avoided, the mayor added.

With fraternities promising to promote peace, Supt. Calixto Mabugat, chief of police of Kabankalan, expects a more peaceful city.
He considers the peace pact as “historic” – a first in Negros Occidental.

The inducted officers of the UFO were:

* Alex Tagamolia – president
* Elmer Cordero – vice president (internal)
* Lauro Rondain Jr. – vice president (external)
* Francis Romulo Moya – secretary-general
* Erlita Gebusion – treasurer
* Raffy Alimpuangon – assistant treasurer
* Andre Johnny Ramilla, Raymund Flores – auditors
* Russ Cuenca, Allen Tanaleon – press information officers
* Kenneth Salditos, Philip TAmbolero – business managers
* Gary Gatoc, Daryll Guillen, Dennis Famoso, Resurecsion Alfonso, Any Gepolane, Nelson Tadlan Jr., Gaudencio Tabanao, Jericho Benedito and Jonilda Delim – directors. (Eddie M. Yap/PN

This kind of acknowledgement may be painted with stain, better left unsaid... Baka pagmulan lng yan ng boasting of members.. Mas mabuti yung organized by all because one fraternity cannot build a UFO without the consent of others... Peace!

Wala bang pics ng UFO...Yung malinaw at huwag yung blurry tulad ng mga UFO na nakikita ko sa TV.

I actually was there.. My wife resides in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, but we both are working in Bacolod.. Though our organization have not reached Kabankalan yet, which is obviously why our name is not listed, I am proud that the local government of Kabankalan has made a step towards peace among organizations.. Sana ganito lahat.. Unfortunately I haven't got a single picture taken
